GACO is delighted to invite you to this keynote Conference focussing on AI, the risks and benefits to our businesses, together with the growing risks we face from cybercrime and scams. We live in increasingly uncertain times and to succeed your business needs to manage a wide range of growing threats whilst keeping up to date with laws and regulations. The international speakers:

Ajay Chowdhury

Ajay is a successful global, experienced CEO with over twenty-five years experience in digital transformations in mobile, e-commerce, digital media, digital retail and Government. Ajay has been the founder or CEO of several startups, including Shazam (sold to Apple), Seatwave (sold to Ticketmaster) and LineOne (sold to Tiscali) and is also a successful fictional crime writer, his first crime novel “The Waiter” was named the Sunday Times crime book of the month and has been optioned for television. Ajay will be presenting an inspiring overview on AI technology and its business implications, likely future technology risks and how to protect ourselves, where the technology is going and how to use AI positively.

Charlie McMurdie

Charlie served many years in the Metropolitan Police where she established and led a world class national cyber-crime capability and enforcement body for the United Kingdom. A global leader in fraud strategy and intelligence operations, she has established herself as an acknowledged cyber crime and security expert who has a proven and highly acclaimed reputation for generating strategic direction and delivery of operational capability to confront the impact of cyber crime.  Charlie will enlighten us what are the current cyber threats and opportunities for our businesses, future data threats, liability and legislation.

Alexis Conran 

Alexis is best known as the man who identifies, uncovers and helps protect businesses and individuals against scams. As writer and presenter of the highly acclaimed BBC TV show, The Real Hustle, he is in the rare position of being able to advise and educate even the most-foolhardy on issues surrounding security and risk in the real and virtual world, and identify the human behaviour, communication skills and confidence tricks that the world’s top scammers rely on to achieve their unscrupulous aims. Alexis will tell us what are the ongoing cyber threats,  opportunities for our business, future data threats, liabilities and legislation.

The Hon Nigel Feetham KC

We are very happy as well to inform you that the Minister for Justice, Trade, and Industry, the Hon Nigel Feetham KC will open the event and address the audience with an initial introductory speech.

Previously Nigel Feetham, partner at Hassans International Law Firm, was appointed to the rank of Queen’s Counsel - now King's Counsel. The appointment was made by the governor of Gibraltar, Lieutenant General Edwards Davis, on 5 April 2019. In 2021 Nigel Feetham QC was appointed overall head of Hassans’ Financial Services Practice.

Mr Feetham joined Hassans in 1993 and became a partner in 1999. During a career spanning over 30 years, he has specialised in setting up innovative insurance structures and has advised the Gibraltar government on insurance legislation, specifically those related to protected cell company (PCC) laws. He is considered an expert in insurance passporting and has contributed to a number of articles to Captive Insurance Times around Brexit and its potential impact on insurance passporting.
