GACO Women in Compliance Team Announces Webinar on Bitcoin Foundations, Regulation, Financial Autonomy and the Psychology of Adoption

The Gibraltar Association of Compliance Officers (GACO) has announced an upcoming interactive webinar hosted by its Women in Compliance Team, titled "Bitcoin, Demystified: Foundations, Regulation, Financial Autonomy and the Psychology of Adoption."
Scheduled for Thursday, 29th October 2026, from 09:30 to 11:00 CEST, the 90-minute online session will feature keynote speaker Lisa Tscherry, Founder and CEO of SatoShe, a leading Swiss platform dedicated to Bitcoin education.
While the session specifically focuses on empowering women in compliance and broader business roles, GACO welcomes participants of all genders from across the financial, legal, and regulatory sectors to attend and contribute to the live discussion.
As digital assets continue to integrate into the global financial architecture, compliance professionals face the dual challenge of keeping pace with regulatory evolution while evaluating the macroeconomic and psychological factors driving technology adoption. This webinar aims to cut through industry hype by examining the structural principles of digital assets alongside behavioural insights into risk perception.
"Understanding the technical fundamentals and regulatory framework surrounding digital assets is essential for modern compliance leaders," said a representative of the GACO Women in Compliance Sub-Committee. "By partnering with SatoShe, we are providing a structured, educational platform to explore how money, risk, and technology intersect, particularly through the lens of female participation in financial technology."
Key Topics Covered
- Macroeconomic Drivers: Inflation, money structures, and the case for a neutral store of value.
- Core Architecture: Technical foundations, regulatory context, and structural differences between Bitcoin and alternative digital assets.
- The Psychology of Adoption: Time preference, risk perception, and behavioural approaches to new technologies.
- Financial Autonomy: Practical entry points, security fundamentals, and principles of self-custody.
- Interactive Q&A: A dedicated 30-minute session moderated by the Women in Compliance Committee.
