GCID SAR Presentation at The Rock Hotel, 18th December
We are very proud as part of Project Nexus to announce that the GFIU is going digital and has acquired an online SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) System that is going to be made available in early 2018 to all the entities in Gibraltar that have the obligation to report suspicious activities.
Edgar Lopez, the Executive Co-ordinator of GCID, will be presenting to all of us the Themis Digital SAR Reporting Platform on Monday, 18th of December 2017 at The Rock Hotel. The presentation will not be technical but rather what the system has to offer to Reporters.
This is a very important step forward for all the industry practitioners in Gibraltar that have to submit suspicious activity reports for various reasons, including (1) the fact that submitting a SAR online will be easier than in paper form or PDF format; (2) the online system will provide you with instant acknowledgement and with a reference number and (3) it will be processed more quickly by the GFIU and other agencies (this is very important if for example a consent is sought). There are many other reasons that as to why an online SAR system is much more advantageous than the existing reporting forms and that is what Edgar is going to explain to the industry showcasing the system to all of us.
As places are limited, we invite all our members to register soonest in order to make sure that a place will be reserved at this event. Please reserve your seat no later than 14th December 2017.
We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible next Monday at the Rock Hotel.
